Rev. Ann Beams: Pastor
Rev. Beams has been the pastor at Valley Presbyterian since 2004. She feels truly blessed to serve such a caring congregation, and she greatly enjoys serving a small church. Ann received a B.A. from Dartmouth College in 1977. She attended the Yale Divinity School, receiving the M.Div degree in 1980, and an ST.M. in 1991. Ordained in 1980, Ann's first call was as an associate pastor at Saint Mark Presbyterian Church in Rockville, MD. In 1989 her family moved to CT and Ann served as an interim minister in a variety of PC(USA) and UCC churches in CT. Ann's service to the Presbyterian church has included 4 terms as vice-moderator and moderator of the presbytery and Council Chair. Additionally, Ann has also been involved in the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, serving as the Congregational Relations Committee Chair and Board President. Ann and her husband Mark, live in Brookfield, CT. Mark retired from the General Electric Company, where he was International Tax Counsel. They have two grown children, Clare and Owen.
Ann's guiding principle as pastor of Valley Presbyterian comes from 1 Corinthians, 4:1, "Consider us thus; as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God."
Maxim Vladimiroff: Organist and Adult Choir Director
Maxim Vladimiroff is a graduate of the Gnessin College of Music (Moscow) and a student of Dmitri Servov, Yvette Shekhtman, and Igor Brill. After moving to the United States, he attained his MFA in music composition from the University of California, Irvine. Subsequently he studied in New York with composer Philip Lasser. Vladimiroff was a First Level Winner in the 1997 National Association of Composers USA Competition. His works have been performed by members of the New York New Music Ensemble, the Bachanalia Festival Orchestra and the Lafayette College Choir, among others. His compostion Quid ploras, mulier? for women's choir has been published by Treble Clef Music Press. He frequently performs as pianist and harpsichordist with the Danbury Concert Chorus and teaches at his private studio in Brookfield, Connecticut, and the European American Musical Alliance Summer Program in Paris.
Gerry Willmann: Church Office Administrator
Gerry Willmann, church office administrator, is a Queens native who has made Connecticut her home for the past 28 years. She started working at Valley 24 years ago, before there was even a building to call our own. Throughout the years, her ministry has been to keep us running smoothly, and to be a caring voice at the other end of the telephone for all kinds of questions and concerns. Gerry lives with her husband, Jim, in Brookfield. Their adult son, Greg, lives with his wife, Leslie, in the Washington D. C. area.
