Beginning this Sunday, and for the next four weeks, the Stewardship Team has invited us to offer our prayers of thanksgiving to God, and to pray for God's guidance as we discern where it is and how it is God is calling us to be church. Using colorful prayer flags, each week we will write our prayers -- maybe just a word or phrase--focused first on prayers for the world, then prayers for others, then for ourselves, and finally for our church.
Used for thousands of years, prayer flags are colorful panels of cloth, often found strung along mountain ridges and peaks high in the Himalayas. In this ancient tradition, prayer flags are hung near homes and places of spiritual practice in the hope that the wind will carry the prayers throughout the countryside. It is the StewardshipTeam's hope that, as we watch the number of prayers grow, and as we see more and more bright color don our sanctuary, we will be reminded of all God has done, is doing, and will do in and through Valley Presbyterian Church. May God's Spirit blow in us and through us, and out into this hurting world.
Blessings for the rest of your week.
See you Sunday!
